It has only been a year since I started feeling curious about studying nature. I come from Greece, a country with a plethora of different landscapes and a divine quality of light. One of nature’s elements I’m captivated by are rocks. I perceive them as ancient spirits which decided to stay on earth to teach us the old ways and protect us.
I’m also fascinated by trees. I believe that they use a sacred algorithm to help them find light and therefore life. When drawing trees, I subconsciously feel I’m connecting with this algorithm. I tend to give emphasis to nature’s intercorrelation by integrating farmhouses, ruins and burned flora in my paintings; or even focus on details like flower petals and stamens. My intention with this series is to express my gratitude for nature’s chaotic order and for the state of deep silence I get into, when I am part of it.
